About Voice of Bahundagi
Voice of Bahundagi
Truth. Local. Loud. —
Who we are
Voice of Bahundagi (VOB) is an independent local news website established in 2014. We cover Bahundangi and the surrounding areas of Mechinagar, Jhapa District. We publish local news, community stories, government announcements, and development updates that matter to the people of this area.
We started because the Bahundangi area was underserved by national media. Local stories — from road construction to school events to farming issues — were going unreported. We exist to change that.
Our mission
To report the truth about our community, loudly enough that it reaches the people who need to hear it. We believe local journalism is a public service, not a business opportunity, and we work to keep our reporting accurate, fair, and accessible to everyone in Bahundangi regardless of their ability to pay.
What we cover
- Local government — decisions by the Mechinagar municipality, ward office, and Jhapa District that affect our area.
- Community affairs — festivals, religious events, community meetings, and stories of the people who live here.
- Development and infrastructure — roads, bridges, water projects, electricity, and other construction in the area.
- Agriculture and farming — crop prices, weather impacts, and farming issues for local farmers.
- Education and health — school news, health camps, and public health information.
- Sports and culture — local sports teams, cultural events, and achievements of people from Bahundangi.
What we stand for
🎯 Truth
We report what we can verify, and we say so when we cannot verify something.

🔓 Accessibility
